The water construction permit issued in 1st of July 2020 includes both the sea and the entrance fairways of the port as well as the deepening the dock from ten to twelve meters. The permit also includes building a new breakwater, landfill area and a quay for the Metsä Group bioproduct mill.
The financing of the deepening of the Ajos sea fairway is included in the supplementary budget of the Finnis government and it requires a final investment decision of the Metsä Group bioproduct mill.
