The dredging work of the dock will be completed in the autumn 2022.
Also, Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency has started the dredging work of the Government administrated Ajos sea fairway this week. The current 10-meter fairway is deepened to 12 meters which will allow even bigger vessels to visit the port of Kemi. The deepening project also includes all dredging and landfill work as well as the installation of safety devices concerning the marking of the fairway. Boskalis Terramare Ltd. operates as the contractor of the deepening project and their vessels are based in the port of Veitsiluoto.
Both the expansion and the deepening projects bring many different types of machinery into sea fairway and port water areas.
