Port of Kemi celebrates its 150th birthday with a book that gives an insight of the port’s history from the founding regulation of the Russian emperor Alexander II until today. The book also includes parts of the history of city of Kemi and its neighbors as well as companies located in the area.
The author of the book is Taisto Saari and it will be published (in Finnish) by the end of 2019.

The Regional State Administrative Agency of Northern Finland has just admitted an environmental permit to Metsä Fibre’s new bioproduct mill in Kemi. According to the permit, Metsä Fibre is allowed to begin operating regardless of possible appeals of the permit.
