Major changes occurred in the ownership of harbour ice-breaking and towing service provider Arctia Karhu Ltd. in 31.3.2025 when Arctia Ltd. sold its 90 % share to Boluda Towage Finland Ab Oy. Port Of Kemi Ltd. continues as a minority shareholder with 10 % share.
Arctia Karhu Ltd. employs approx. 12 persons and continues to operate the ports of Kemi and Tornio with two vessels. The stock trade has no impact on the personnel or the operations, as the operations continue as usual.
-We are pleased that Arctia Karhu Ltd. found a new capable owner after Arctia Ltd. decided to sell their share. Boluda Towage Finland already has a quite comprehensive fleet and experience in operating in the bay of Bothnia. We strongly believe the new owner will strengthen the operations of Arctia Karhu Ltd., says Markku Rautio, the CEO of Port Of Kemi Ltd.
